The 71-year-old singer ignites the ‘The Voice’ stage with ‘Stand By Me.’

Jimi Bellmartin, a senior contestant on The Voice, stole the show in the finals with a powerful rendition of the R&B classic ‘Stand By Me.’

After winning the season, Bellmartin could release an EP and perform live at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome. Since the beginning of that year, Bellmartin has been the overwhelming favorite.

All the coaches turned around in one go when he sang James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s World” from the first notes of his audition.

Jimi Bellmartin performs Ben E King’s “Stand By Me” on The Voice Senior’s The Final in this two-minute, thirty-three-second clip. He masterfully performs the song, which is enthralling, especially the chorus “stand by me.” It’s extremely moving.

He was a year old when he arrived in Holland. He ended up in Vught as a child. Bellmartin has spent his entire life singing. Not only at parties, but also in the backing vocals of major artists such as Percy Sledge, Lou Rawls, Eric Burdon, and The Trammps.

He has traveled the world for years, sharing his talent with millions of people. More than two million people tuned in to see the soul singer win the RTL talent show finale with his rendition of “Loving Someone.” Gordon and Gerard Joling were his trainers.

In 1970, Bellmartin released his first single, ‘This is My Love Song.’ Bellmartin debuted as the lead singer of The Soul Snatchers, a funk band, in 2007. Bellmartin’s ‘Stand By Me’ performance on The Voice is one of the most memorable, thanks to his signature soul sound.
